Add a Target

In the Probebly app, add a target as follows:

  1. Go to the TARGETS tab and click on the ADD button.

  2. Fill out the Add target form:

    Fill out the following fields:

    1. Type in a meaningful Name for the target.

    2. Type in the URL of the web application, website, or API.

    3. If you want to scan a standalone API without a supporting Web Application, go to the field Is this an API target? and provide the API schema. Learn more about scanning standalone APIs in this article on how to configure and scan an API.

    4. If you want to scan an internal application without the need to expose it on the Internet or even to our IP addresses, you can also assign a Scanning Agent to the target. Learn more about it in this article on how to scan internal applications with a Scanning Agent.

    5. Optionally, you can add Labels to help you easily filter and identify the target when you have many targets.

  3. Click on ADD to create the new target.
We will check the connectivity to your target. If your target is unreachable, we will allow you to bypass that warning and add the target regardless. However, bear in mind that we will need to be able to reach your target to scan it.

With your newly created target, learn what you can do with it in this article on targets from A to Z.
