Why do we require you to verify the ownership of a domain?

Learn why it is important to prove that you are authorized to do security tests on your domain.

Probely, as a vulnerability scanner, will perform extensive security tests on your domain, which can be seen as malicious attacks. As such, we require you to prove that the domain is effectively yours and, this way, that you are allowed to run security tests on your domain.

To prove the ownership of your domain, you must verify it using one of the following methods:

Before your domain is verified, you can only run lightning scans (available on web targets only); these are superficial scans designed for speed that focus on identifying vulnerabilities related to SSL/TLS, HTTP headers, and cookies. To set up lightning scans on your target, go to your Target Settings and access the Profile tab.
